One night around 10:30PM last summer, we received a call from Universal Pictures asking us to make an all-white Unicorn Browband for delivery the next afternoon.
The Unicorn Browband was for a horse to be ridden by P!nk who plays the “Unicorn Handler” in the Lonely Island movie titled “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” a mockumentary of the music industry starring Andy Samberg and Sarah Silverman. This film also includes appearances from over two dozen musicians and actors such as Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Ringo Starr, Simon Cowell, Mariah Carey, Pharell Williams, Adam Levine, Usher, 50 Cent, Will Arnett, Joan Cusack, Martin Sheen, Jimmy Fallon, and many more.
Now I must confess that being more of a Beatles, Mozart, and Jane Austen kind of gal, I’m not very familiar with the works of many of these stars but even I have heard of a lot of these names and am pretty excited about our Unicorn Browband being a part of this star-studded project.
This is not the first time we have made items for use in the entertainment industry — we have also done work for Disney Hollywood Studios, The CW, Disney Channel, the Hallmark Channel, and other companies — but seeing our handmade product in an official trailer for a major motion picture — even if for a nanosecond — is quite something. :)
